Quinta da Boeira garden area.

Here we go to tell you about that 1st Portugal Scrap booking event that I attended last 9th May, at Quinta da Boeira (Boeira Farm), in Vila Nova de Gaia city.

It was a fantastic day! I was surrounded by sunlight, colors, cool mates, happiness and much, much fantasy!!...
There i also met face to face and for the 1st time, one of the Brazilian ladies I use to chat with via Flickr website! She is Rita and very cool! It was so nice to give a face to her nickname.
Ok,i'll tell u the best of that day: I woke up around 7.30am to be at 9.15am at the Event. There we had the meeting with all the crafters and they gave us the GOODIES BAG with many nice surprises! A nice bag with cute papers, stickers, rubber stamps, an embossing ruler, sticks of glue, great Scrap booking English reviews... Etc.

Our event inside area. Here it was before starting the event itself... but u can see the ladies already popping around the shopping areas!!! :)))) Ahaha

At the event were also two Scrap booking stores represented and with many lovely stuff on sell. Most ladies got lost buying their expensive stuff...but still complaining about how much money they were spending!! >:))) I opted by buying nothing at all, and had notes on what I want to buy in the future. I controlled myself!! It wasn't hard...I've a strong control over myself when I want to!! >:D After all I spent enough money on the event itself… and so far life hasn’t been that easy!!

Then we started with the Workshops and 'Make and Takes'! I did one workshop with the English Anna Davenport. It was a 2h30 very well spent time making 3 cool Cards. Anna is very sympha and always prompts to help us. I showed her my art works photos and gave her my website contact. She gave us her website too... Later on, and with more time, I'll give a look,nad may b will contact her too. Me and about 8 other women were doing this Workshop.
Then, we had the 15 minutes delicious coffee break, and returned to conclude the cards we were doing. At about 1.00pm was lunch time...

Surprise, surprise... Time to offer OPORTO WINE bottles (hummmmm) to the English crafters... and also time to make a drawing between all of us to offer some fancy SIZZIX products!! I wasn't lucky this time for a change... may b next time!! >:~) U can see Anna & Pete in the middle.

Delicious lunch, but a bit too long lunch break, then the consequences were quite evident!!
After lunch we had the 1st 'Make and Take' of the day, Pop-up Cards with Pete Hughes. Pete Hughes, works for SIZZIX! Lucky,ugh?!? This ‘class’ started about 1 hour later than supposed… and Pete was very pressed to hurry up…. Too bad as I think he did mix up most things and felt lost during most of the 'Make and take'... and I’m sire i lost some Scrap booking secrets too. Ugh! But he was very nice to all of us and taught a lot of nice tricks! It wasn’t for sure his fault at all!! I left the 'Make and Take' somewhat disappointed.
But then I asked Patricia (She prepared all the details for the Scrap booking event and was always very nice and helpful to all of us!) to try a way to teach us ‘these tricks’ at '512 ideais' store later on.

Around 4.15pm we head off to the 2nd and last 'Make and Take': Cards powered by Lua Nova. We were again about 7 women, and I'd so much fun doing that super cute Cook Recipes book. I loved the whole Make and take and the teacher was superb too. They introduced us to new machines that cut the paper in various areas, and others that cut and add in these spiral rings that most notebooks have... It is the ZUTTER ‘Bind it all’ machine!!!! Oh My God, What a great stuff! These things unfortunately are all expensive and so addicting too!! But indeed I cannot afford to buy everything!! Oh well, and that it was the last 'Scrap booking class' of the event!!
It was a very well spent day and with many great ideas to use in my coming arts & crafts works! Ph yeah, i returned home feeling like a child again!!
